Acupuncture for Arthritis

Treat Arthritis With Acupuncture

Unfortunately, arthritis is entirely too common, and while there are countless pain medications available to treat the ailment, pain medication is not always the best or most effective option.  The first form of relief most people will try when dealing with arthritis is over the counter pain medication.  These pills may serve for temporary relief; however, your body can develop a tolerance to this medication over time.  Acupuncture, on the other hand, can help you manage the pain more effectively and in a much more natural way than with pain killers.

Arthritis is known to make joint movements throughout the body a very painful process.  In some cases, individuals only experience pain in certain joints, while others experience pain throughout the body.  No matter your specific situation, acupuncture therapy can be utilized to address whatever painful areas each patient may have.  Unlike pain medications, acupuncture can target a specific joint at one time to decrease pain much more effectively.

If you are experiencing one or many of the following symptoms in any or all of your joints from arthritis, then you are a great candidate for acupuncture therapy:

·         Pain

·         Swelling

·         Reduced Range of Motion

·         Stiffness

·         Bony Outgrowth on Hands or Feet

·         Muscle weakness

The cause of arthritis is often simply due to over usage or “wear and tear” that your joints have gone through over the course of your life.  It is not necessarily preventable, but you can relieve your pain through the natural treatment of acupuncture therapy.  Acupuncture releases the body’s natural pain killers, also known as endorphins, in order to relieve the pain or stiffness in your joints.

Whether you are familiar with or know nothing at all about how acupuncture works, don’t hesitate to call us.  We are happy to answer questions from anyone who wants to learn more about the benefits of acupuncture and how it can help you find relief from arthritis pain.  Call us today at 732-800-0006.
