Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)
Blood pressure is the force of bloopushing against the walls of arteries as it flows through them. Arteries are the blood vessels that carry oxygenated blood from the heart to the body's tissues. The more pressure the blood exerts on the artery walls, the higher the blood pressure will be. High blood pressure or hypertension is one of the most commonly found health issues around the world. It is associated with aging, obesity, smoking, alcoholism, and certain health conditions such as kidney disease and diabetes. Acupuncture stimulates certain brain chemicals and lowers the excitatory reactions of the cardiac system. This decreases the workload for the heart, arteries, and blood vessels. As a result, the rapid demand for oxygen is lowered, which can lead in a decrease in blood pressure levels.
